ChromaMatch is a digital color-matching assistant for the hobby community. If you see a paint color from one brand (like Citadel) but prefer to use another (like Vallejo or The Army Painter), ChromaMatch uses advanced mathematical algorithms to find the closest possible match. Why is it good? Scientific Accuracy: Unlike simple "eyeballing," it uses the CIEDE2000 algorithm, which is a formula used to measure how humans perceive differences between colors. Brand Versatility: It bridges the gap between major paint lines, saving you money by helping you use what you already have. Mixing Logic: It incorporates Kubelka-Munk theory, which helps predict how paints will look when mixed together.
1. Logging In To save your preferences or access personalized features: Go to the Sign In page. Enter your credentials: email and password.
Navigate to the Search tab. Select the paint you currently have (e.g., Citadel Mephiston Red). The app will instantly list equivalents from other brands, ranked by how close they are to the original. Pro Tip: Look for the lowest "Delta E" value—the lower the number, the more perfect the match!
Explore the Tools section to find specialized calculators for mixing paints. If you are looking for a specific shade, use the Random Color button on the home page for inspiration.
ChromaMatch is powered by a dedicated community of painters who help expand our database by requesting new paint lines and sharing feature ideas through our Discord. By visiting the Vault of Delights webshop, you directly back the project’s development and help maintain the advanced servers required for our color-matching math. You can also reach out via Discord to join this growing community of hobbyists, or find our contact email within the Tier Lists if you need direct assistance or wish to contribute data.
Since this is a solo-developer project, joining the Discord (linked in the footer) is the best way to report bugs or suggest new paint lines to be added.
The Vault of Delights is the official ChromaMatch webshop. While the app provides the digital tools to calculate your perfect palette, the Vault is where you can go to support the project and find physical items or services related to the hobby. If you want to see the project grow or get your hands on curated hobby gear, this is the place to visit.
